Van Gogh Owl

In this drawing and painting studio Little artists learned about the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh.

Focusing on his most famous work- Starry Starry Night, for the texture and expressive brush strokes. Out paintings subject was an owl perched on a branch in a Van Gogh inspired night sky.

Throughout the series we broke down our work into steps- Drawing no the canvas, painting stars, sky, illuminating the stars, painting the branch and last painting our owls.

Artists applied thick acrylic paint on their canvas, experimenting with blending with yellow and white to create the  moons highlights and the dark shadows with similar textures to Van Gogh’s Starry Starry Night.
